Chen Chen - BiographyShort BioI grew up in Xi'an, China. My last name Chen (’陈’) and my first name Chen (’晨’) are different, with ’晨’ meaning 'morning’. That is how my email and homepage come from:) My undergraduate and gradute studies are at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, where I received the Master and Bachelor degrees in 2009 and 2006, respectively. My next period was in the U.S, with the starting point at Bethlehem, PA, where I received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Lehigh University in 2013, under the supervision of Prof. Shalinee Kishore. After graduation, I left east coast for midwest, and joined Argonne National Laboratory, which is 30 minutes driving from Chicago. I spent six years there and was very lucky to work with great colleagues at the Center for Energy, Environmental, and Economic Systems Analysis. I also had a joint appointment at The University of Chicago. In summer of 2019, I moved back to my hometown and joined School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University as a Professor. I served as a chair for Special Interest Group of Cyber Security, Privacy, and Resilience for the Smart Grid, in IEEE Communication Society Smart Grid Communications Committee 2018-2019. I served as an editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid from 2015. I received the IEEE Power and Energy Society Chicago Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award in 2018. Education
